PFH is delighted to announce the appointment of John Glenton as the new Chair of the Board, effective from October 2024. John takes over from Kate Calvert, who has successfully completed her six-year term as a Board Member and has served as Chair since July 2022.

John, who joined the Board of Directors in July 2023, brings with him over 35 years of invaluable experience in the housing sector, particularly in providing care and support services for vulnerable individuals. His extensive background includes his current role as Executive Director of Care and Support at The Riverside Group, a position he has held since 2016. John also serves as a Board Member of the Church Homeless Trust and chairs the National Housing Federationā€™s Homelessness Steering Group.

John says,

I am delighted to be assuming the role of Chair at this fantastic organisation that has such a positive impact on our residents in Hull and the East Riding. The emphasis PFH put on health and wellbeing in later life is so important to support our residents to live independently with choice and control. In the UK we have an aging population and a shortage of affordable housing so providing safe, good quality housing for older people has never been more important and I am proud to be working with a dedicated team who strive for excellence in customer satisfaction.

Reflecting on the appointment, Claire Warren, Chief Executive of PFH, said:

We are thrilled to welcome John as our new Chair of the Board as we continue our mission to enhance services, build new homes, and foster a positive work environment. His wealth of knowledge and dedication to supporting communities aligns perfectly with our goals. At the same time, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Kate for her passion, commitment, and leadership over the past six years.

Kate will remain on the Board for up to a year to ensure a smooth transition and support John’s induction into his new role.
